Studentidrett

Building a modern digital platform for Norwegian student sport

Project details

As part of my role at Solid Media, I was responsible for the technical implementation of Studentidrett's digital platform - the national home of Norges Studentidrettsforbund (the Norwegian Student Sports Federation). Working closely with the customer throughout the project, I transformed business requirements into a scalable and maintainable solution that combined a content-rich public website with a flexible content management system.

The project required close collaboration with stakeholders to serve two distinct audiences - individual students and member clubs - while ensuring content editors could manage events, news, championships and the nationwide club directory independently.

The platform was built with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and content flexibility. By leveraging a modern headless architecture, the solution allows the Studentidrett team to manage and publish content - from events and news to the nationwide club directory - independently, while maintaining a fast and responsive user experience.

Content Management

A key requirement of the project was enabling the Studentidrett team to manage content independently without relying on developers.

Using Sanity CMS, I implemented a flexible content architecture that lets editors create, update, and publish events, news, championships and club information efficiently while maintaining consistency throughout the website.

The solution was designed to support future growth and make content management straightforward for non-technical users.

Performance & SEO

The platform was built with a strong focus on technical SEO, performance, and discoverability.

Using Next.js and server-side rendering, the website delivers fast loading times, strong search engine visibility, and an optimized experience across devices.

Particular attention was given to semantic structure, metadata management, content discoverability, and overall site performance.

The following screenshots showcase key areas of the platform developed for Studentidrett. The project demonstrates a modern headless architecture combining Next.js, Sanity CMS, Neon Database, and Vercel to create a fast, scalable, and easy-to-manage digital experience.

From content management and backend integrations to frontend implementation and deployment, the project reflects a close collaboration between technical development and business requirements.
